Description
The scope of this work is to examine what is involved in the contemplation of the person of Christ in the gospels, as recommended by St Ignatius for those making the Spiritual Exercises. The study will confine itself to the Second Week of the Exercises, what Ignatius calls ‘the life of Christ our Lord up to Palm Sunday inclusive.’24 The contemplation of the Lord’s Passion and the contemplation of his risen life together with the Contemplation to Attain the Love of God have their own specific character that would require a separate treatment.
