Bruce Barber is a Minister of the Word in the Uniting Church in Australia and emeritus Dean of the United Faculty of Theology, Melbourne.
David Neville is Lecturer in New Testament at St Mark’s National Theological Centre in Canberra and the School of Theology, Charles Sturt University. He has written two books on the synoptic problem, and is editor of Prophecy and Passion: Essays in Honour of Athol Gill
This book is the result of a conference that addressed two pressing issues for Christianity in the modern world. One is the issue of Theodicy; that is, belief in a just God in the face of evil and suffering in our world. The other is the issue of God’s Eschatology; belief in the fulfilment of Jesus’ saving mission, experienced as God’s healing of humanity afflicted by suffering and evil.
