Description

Evidence for the existence of God is supported by the existence of a great universe and the consistency of the physical laws which govern its functions. But the character, the mind, purposes and activities for the benefit of human beings of such a deity require revelation from God’s inner being. Although some revelation has come in language written down and passed through history, the clearest revelation of God has been given in the unique offspring of God, one who had to be human in order to be understood by human beings. This is alleged to be the historical Jesus, born in the Middle East, killed by human beings for his claims, but resurrected to divine eternal life.

Logical people who are faced with such claims naturally wish to identify the possible methods by which these events came about. This book proposes a methodology for the conception of Jesus by a human mother and a divine father. The method makes use of scientific genetic processes which operate in the conception of any human being, but with a divine contribution. Various currently held theories of methods by which Jesus appeared on earth are shown to lack evidence. Arising from this method, Jesus’ sonship from God is proposed to have been literal and not metaphorical as is suggested by current theology. Therefore, Jesus is presented in this writing as the literal son of God, being both human and divine. As such, he was the unique and suitable offering to God to make atonement for the obvious wrong-doing of human beings. If this methodology is correct, the way a trinity of divine persons may be perceived is suggested.

George Natar originated from the Greek part of Cyprus and migrated to Australia as a ten-year-old. In his late teens he believed in Jesus as Saviour and Lord and later served as lay preacher in Greek from his early twenties on. His education led to his becoming a surgeon, a work which he enjoyed immensely. On retirement from this in his later years, he turned to formal theological study and taught theology and New Testament in a Bible college for several years. His favoured branch of theology is Christology, hence the subject of this book.
