Description
About the book
The Old Covenant, the treaty established at Sinai, has been central to the Christian comprehension of the nature of God and his relationship with his people, even after the advent of Jesus Christ.
The advent of de-colonising hermeneutics, in cooperation with First Nation Australian mentors, has enabled us to expose the colonial dimensions of texts in
Genesis, Exodus and Joshua, found in Decolonising the Biblical Narratives, Volumes 1–5. In this volume we discover that even the narratives about the Old Covenant have been edited by colonial narrators. Even more significant is the discovery that there is a biblical tradition introducing a New Covenant that negates the Old Covenant.
Our goal is to retrieve The New Covenant in its prototypes and celebrate its relevance for First Nations Australia and beyond.
