Description
About the book:
It has long been recognised that John’s Gospel has an exalted portrait of Jesus as the Christ and the Song of God. While in no way denying the high Christology of the Gospel, this book emphasises the theological character and intent of the Johannine writings. The mission of Jesus is to make God known. Johannine Christology is a function of Johannine theology, and finds it deepest meaning in revealing the life-giving mystery of God.
The book is a collaborative work by a biblical scholar and a systematic theologian, exploits both of these insights. Frank Moloney’s reading of the Johannine narrative feeds into Anthony Kelly’s systematic theological reflections on a theology of God.
